Tunisia : Facts for visitors

Climate : Tunisia enjoys a mediterranean climate. (hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters). Temperatures vary according to seasons and regions, but they are most often pleasant even in the winter period. Peaceful Tunisia is a friendly country where the intensity of natural light permeates  the land and the people and life is enjoyable.
Currency :  The Tunisian Dinar is divided into 1000 millimes available in notes (30, 20,10) and coins easy to use ( 5, 1 dinars / 500, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 millimes ).

Mastercards, American Express, Diners Club and Visa credit cards are accepted. Import / Export of the local currency is strictly prohibited.                 

You may bring in any amount of foreign currency. However it is recommended that you keep receipts therof
for an eventual customs control upon departure. Banks / change offices at the airport, hotels or downtown
will readily exchange your mony into tunisian dinars.

Credit cards and travel checks are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, supermarkets and shops

Visa requirement :
Citizens of the European Union do not need to get a visa, simply a valid passport,  to enter the country.
